This New Moon is a fierce one, with more than just a little bit of heat behind it. Aries, the cardinal fire sign, is the very first of the zodiac. It’s a sign known for its independence and willingness to forge on. This is the very first New Moon in the astrological new year. This begins once the Sun moves into Aries, as it did a few days ago on March 20th. For astrologers and those from the Northern Hemisphere, we call this the Spring equinox. This is the welcoming of new energy and new life. Those of you wanting to set new personal “new year” goals, now is your time. I promise they’re more likely to stick than the ones set in January!..

The word Aries comes from the latin word for ram. In greek mythology the story of Aries is represented by the golden ram. In one story King Athamas had two children, Phrixus and Helle. His second wife tried to have his son Phrixus killed and a flying golden ram was sent by Hermes and their mother, Nephele as a gift to take them away from trouble on his golden back. Both the Sun and Moon are coming together in the Mars-ruled sign of Aries. Aries is all about independence and exerting our own wills. This is an excellent time to set some new personal goals for yourself. You’ll likely to be shown where you have room to grow during this Moon. However, this won’t be served up on a silver platter. Aries has a tendency to need to take responsibility, and walk the path (or fight the war), alone. With push back from serious Saturn, it's certain you will have to take the long road. Saturn’s square is for good reason, hoping you will pump the breaks and do things by the book, or properly. You may feel as if some authority figure is taking your power away. Tempers may flare as this signs square off, but the key is to...

Aries, the first sign of the zodiac, keeps things moving and beckons us into taking action. Invite the Aries full moon by honoring your independence and inspiration through passion projects or setting new goals. Lead with your will and this moon may serve you well. And while all of this may sound great at first, the shadow side can be impatience, easily annoyed, or compulsive (says the natal Aries Moon). Watch out for a bit of emotional avoidance, Aries doesn’t have time to feel things. This in-charge sign activates our inner warrior and passion so be prepared for a bit of agitation or competition even if you...
