J. Southern Studio is a woman owned and operated design house, based in Los Angeles since 2010. We create adornment and wellness objects with intention, supporting the personal pursuit toward manifestation, connection, and alignment with the Earth and energies around us.
Our Ritual Collection celebrates and unites us with our collective ancient past, and awakens our curiosities through ceremony and practice. Inspired by traditional herbal smoke rituals from around the world, crystal healing philosophies, candle magick theory, and the use of aromatherapy, these tools allow us to transcend generations by anchoring us to our roots and helping carve the way for those who come after us.
All of the components in our Ritual Kits, from the Earth born minerals to our essential oils, are thoughtfully, sustainably, and respectfully sourced from it’s people or place of origin. Our herbs and flowers are cultivated on small American farms. Our varied sage comes from a family owned organic sage farm, as well as from private land, responsibly cultivated in the Chumash tradition by an Indigenous friend who wishes to share healing tools with the world. Likewise, our Palo Santo is fair -trade from an association in Ecuador that works to reforest, educate, and provide income for their community.
