As 2019 begins we become more aware of the necessary tasks and resolutions at hand than recent years. The Sun joins serious Saturn in its home sign of Capricorn on New Years Day reminding us to actually commit to what it is we say we’re going to accomplish this year. Let 2018 be known as the year of retrogrades! Woof, it’s over. As we reflect on the past several months of twists and turns, you may now breathe a sigh of relief. December is a month of some much more manageable and tranquil astrological transits. Take some extra time on the 5th to get some rest and recuperate. The month kicks off with Uranus’s retrograde back into the headstrong sign of Aries on the 6th. Suddenly aspects of yourself you’ve been working on for the past two years come to a head. People are apt to be reactionary when it comes to personal needs. Tensions will rise as as the nodes of the moon move into a cardinal square with Uranus. The new nodal placements of Capricorn (south node) and Cancer (north node) signify and new change in our lives for the next year and a half collectively. We are being asked to move into a space of healing and nurturing. Slowly we will begin to bring better attention to our home and family units.

This month there is a wave of retrograde energy at play. With six planets going retrograde plus Chiron, it’s a time to sit back and review. We are still coming off of the two eclipses in Cancer and Aquarius last month, so it’s expected for emotions to still be tender. I don’t often write about the significance of retrogrades unless of course, it’s a mercury retrograde. But this month a brief lesson may deem helpful. During a retrograde for those of us here on earth, a planet may appear to be moving backwards. While it may seem real, it’s an optical illusion. This is a result of the planet slowing down. Many people I speak with tend to freak out when they hear the word “retrograde”, but I am always quick to squash this reaction. I suppose it’s because most aren’t aware that we almost ALWAYS have a planet in some sort of retrograde motion. In the month of June there’s some major preparation going down behind the scenes. It’s important to take note of where Aquarius falls for you in your natal astrology chart. May 2018 is jam packed with some major changes. We find ourselves examining our value systems, both literally and emotionally. Uranus changes signs, and enters Earthy Taurus on the 15th of May. This will create some explosive new creative and financial stirs. On this same day we experience a fierce new Moon in Taurus that tunes us into our own inner security. Many of us will be evaluating partnerships, and the give and take necessary to maintain harmony. Take caution to anything you may be overly attached to this month, as things are apt to suddenly change. Power struggles, conflict between superiors, and arguments are in the air. You are asked to step away from the drama, and tune into your own personal power in a very bold way.
