February 2021 Celestial Insights

Welcome to your February 2021 Celestial Insights overview!

My friends, this by far is probably one of my most anticipated monthly overview articles. I remember back in 2019, looking at my ephemeris for February/ Spring of 2021 thinking, “I can’t wait to see how the world evolves and what comes of the stellium of planets in Aquarius”. At the time it wasn’t quite clear just exactly how the world would gather together and make strides towards unity. Two years, a world pandemic, major economic and political crosses later: here we are. It’s safe to say our work is cut out for us. If there is one thing astrology has taught me, it’s that you have the ability to create change. The cosmos support us in our evolution, always. In the weeks and month ahead I expect the unusual amount of planets in Aquarius to catapult us into the future, and assist us with solutions for some of our biggest issues. Break throughs in medical science, solutions for climate crisis, humanitarian aid for the current Covid crisis, and a new wave of Political figures that want to proactively plan for the future. While change is never easy- It’s a necessary part of the process. The arrival of the “Age of Aquarius” has been long debated as to WHEN and HOW that shift starts, but surely this is a sign we are leaning in the right direction?

Some of the most intense energy will arrive mid month, when a rare and history making Saturn and Uranus square plays out in the fixed signs of Taurus and Aquarius. This takes place on the 17th of the month and should be nothing short of fireworks. Collectively, the Saturn Uranus cycles take nearly 45 years to complete, and each event builds upon the last. The last major aspect similar to this was America’s 9/11 attack, which resulted in the fall of the Twin Towers, thousands of lives lost, and the beginning of yet another war in the Middle East. Uranus tends to send sudden change and shock waves throughout the world, and internet. The archetypes of Saturn and Uranus couldn’t be any more different. Saturn is serious and wants to stay on the path, maintaining old allegiances and ways of being. He’s like the wise father figure who lives life by a specific set of rules and moves at his own pace. Uranus is the young rebellious genius, who comes across like an anarchist with a mohawk. Clearly when these two are left in the same room, you can expect a real brawl or meeting of the minds. This couldn’t be more true with this square taking place in the fixed signs, who are reluctant to change. However, this is the beauty of the square. We NEED change, and the lesson is to integrate new ways, and learn from the past. Some laws, legislation, and ways of being are blatantly in need for an upgrade, however some more conservative, or in some cases older generations will NOT yield and share some progressives’ views of the future. Jupiter in the mix here will throw gasoline on the flames, bringing about literal explosions and magnified situations. What do I see? An explosion in travel, especially in mid 2021.  I also see a major tech boom, but also more financial upheaval.

The Full and New Moons for the month of February have an interesting theme to them. Falling very much in suit with their signs, the New Moon in Aquarius is jam packed and demanding of change. Unlike the astrology of 2020, 2021 is a whole other beast and right out the gate has some of the heaviest transits in January, and now February. The New Moon is probably the BEST time to create change, otherwise if this energy is used without a sense of direction, chaos ensues. It’s better to work with the unconventional/ out of the box energy to use as a solid push towards innovation. With Jupiter closely in the mix, I want to remind you that for this New Moon it’s extremely important to pray, manifest, envision, and stay OPTIMISTIC and in a state of faith. Regardless of what your belief system may be, whatever breaks down and ultimately proves to be a challenge, will be important for growth. The Full Moon in Virgo will set the stage for making changes, integration of whatever happens earlier in the month, as well as the need to purify or sort out matters. Virgo is exceptional when it comes to problem solving and sorting through whatever doesn’t intimately serve. I’m going to go out on a limb and predict many people are going to see where the Achilles heel is this month, then use the Full Moon to flush those old, disorderly, unhealthy, or unswerving ways of being. With aspects from that moon to Uranus, change comes easy. Mars in Taurus trine Pluto provides a mega dose of power to create change in the physical world.

This Month Mercury continues to move retrograde until the 20th, touching several times with not only Venus the planet of love, but Jupiter who gives wisdom and a piece of the bigger picture. It’s very likely many will experience a sort of “Blast from the past” type situation where people and places may very well come back. Will you answer the call? From my perspective, the only way forward is to learn from the past. Look for the Jupiter/ Venus conjunct Mercury days for these strange occurrences. It’s best to allow these aspects to play out until closer to the first week of March before leaning into any major action. As mentioned above, its rare to have such a number of inner and outer planets in the same sign. In astrology we call this alignment a stellium, where all band together and blend their planetary themes. Whether this is seen in a personal birth chart, or a moment in time, it lends to some extremely focused and harnessed energy in a particular sign. In the sign of Aquarius, I expect to see this help individuals take more of a global view when it comes to how we navigate the world. This alignment of planets serves almost as a grand committee of future builders. I’ve been affectionally referring to it as the Aquarian Agenda. I have been telling my clients some of the most important astrology in all of 2021 is taking place in February, so pay close attention. If you’re aware of what the universe is trying to orchestrate for you, you will follow Mercurys trail of breadcrumbs to connect to your soul mission.

This New Moon is going to pack quite the punch. I keep telling clients this is the New Moon where your New Year’s resolutions will actually begin to stick. So if you haven’t quite felt like it’s time to start something new, or lacked the commitment on January 1st, now is the time! Take time to carve out your goals for the year ahead. Get serious about your expansion. Jupiter and Saturn in the mix of this New Moon want you to expand and contract. In many ways this seems like a bit of a blessing in disguise. You will need the rest of February to see this unfold. For now, use this Moon as an opportunity to BELIEVE. Jupiter asks you to connect to like minded people, and far away places. Jupiter in Aquarius is all about the bigger picture when it comes to the collective. This is an especially potent time for manifestation and pursuing your goals. Be that intellectually or spiritually. You can make the most of this moon by focusing on on what you want your future to look like. Saturn will help keep you in line and remain committed and objective when it comes to setting your goals.

Aquarius New Moon is going to be the BEST TIME in nearly all of 2021 for wish setting. Bring out your big magic guns because this is not one to miss. Safe social distancing rituals are significant, so gathering with a few to amplify the energy can work wonders or collective spells with online witchy friends.
Blowing out candles, writing spells, invoking magical instruments or crystals are all favored and extremely potent, so be careful what you wish for. Words are spells in themselves, so wield them well. Now all three decans of Aquarius are highlighted- so it's not just setting an intention for now, but for an end goal in about 2-3 years. Charging of magical amulets or making lucky Jewelry with seals or crystals are currently favored as well.

Symbolism: The Virgin, Ceres, Mercury, Healers and animal caretakers

This Full Moon is a lunation that is excellent for getting all your busy work done! Make a list, and check off all the little things you’ve been hoping to reorganize or complete. Virgo teaches us the importance of sorting and sifting to see what works best. Virgo is a mutable Earth sign, that is ruled by Mercury. At the time of this Moon, Mercury has finished his retrograde period, and is now retracting steps or conversations that have taken place since the end of January. While Mercury doesn’t leave the shadow until the first week of March, he will be in better standing. You will have a better idea of what the bigger picture is around the time of this Moon. It will give you the ability to heal and adapt to whatever has taken place earlier in the month. There are powerful trines happening between both the Sun and Uranus, as well as Mars and Pluto. When these aspects build in earth signs, we see physical earthly changes. This can be used to manifest changes in your body, finances, health, and even personal space. The world will begin to rebuild in some way, and I see money being funneled into various systems to better support the rapidly changing circumstances due to Covid. Being of service is an important theme here, not only to yourself, but also to your community, pets, and coworkers.

Ways to Ritualize this Moon

Crystals: Moss Agate, Amazonite (both are in our Communication and Connection Crystal Kit, here!)
Herbs: Fennel, Lavender, Peppermint, Thyme
Colors: White, Yellow, Beige, Forest Green
  • Purification and healing magic
  • Creating new healthy habits, routines, and space
  • Organization of your work space
  • Tending to a pets health needs
The Virgo full moon intends to clear up a crisis, bad habit, or anything disorderly. It's a time where crisis comes to the surface so that it may be healed. Those who are healers or in the wellness service industry may be exceptionally blessed. If you're in need of help, ask for assistance. Be open to what the universe sends you. Support comes in all shapes and forms. Those who are capable of helping or being of service to others are encouraged to do so.

As a magical act of service, it may be helping a friend declutter or clean something out. Picking out a new pit was routine or possibly even helping watch a friend's pet. This is a magical time to work with the earth element, so crystals, herbs, grass, dirt are all beneficial. Especially when it comes to making dietary changes. Those with digestion issues would benefit from reiki healing, chord cutting, or laying crystals on the solar plexus. Orange calcite, honey calcite, and peach selenite are excellent for dispelling these energies during the Full Moon. We want to make physical offerings as well, such as flowers, grains, fruit, etc. work with the colors of Virgo, and spend some time
in nature.
