In the Thoth deck, The Sun depicts all zodiac symbols lit up by the rays of the sun—all of our parts and houses and the cycles we move through as our souls evolve and we work through karma.
In this context, The Sun is about “collecting intelligence” and the ego side of our personality/the Solar Self. These are the parts of our personality we are conscious of and link to our soul/inner Self. The twin children represent the innocence and curiosity we are invited to connect with in order to grow more wholly into freedom. It is also an invitation to use creativity and exploration for self-discovery. Being vulnerable is key. Their butterfly wings represent the transformation that occurs when the Shadow is integrated, and they may now move upward.
The sun literally shines light on the shadows so we may confidently confront what needs to be integrated to become whole; the dance between what is conscious and what is unconscious. These include our fears, doubts, and shame that may have been sparked in childhood and have been carried forward and “leak out” in our relationships with others and the Self. ASTRO SNAP SHOT
We started the beginning of the Astrological New Year on 03.20 as the Sun entered Aries, and will continue the theme of new beginnings and bursting seeds pushing through dense thawing Earth in April. The etymology of the word April actually traces back to the word, aperire, “to open”, as the flowers begin to do at this time of the year.
We now have two of the most dense and rigid planetary energies Saturn and Pluto respectively floating in Piscean Water, and Aquarian Space which most certainly opens a cosmic window from which new collective possibilities arise regarding our societal structures of government, power, and laws, as well as re envisioning the role of technology in our society, and what freedom means at this stage of the human evolution game.
Mercury in Taurus on 04.03 helps us slowly and methodically articulate our thoughts while finding our footing with the Cosmic Dad’s Saturn and Pluto in Wonderland, while the Full Moon in Libra on 04.06 determines whom in our life is helping us balance, and who keeps pulling us down into the mud. Until the 20th you may find yourself in a more reflective state than usual, Taurus. You may crave silence, want to retreat, and could feel like hibernating a bit. Tarot Card: 3 of Swords
There was an Ace of Swords planting a seed in communication, and maybe even bringing clarity last month, Gemini. You have likely been having to make difficult, or at least frequent, decisions and choices. That in mind, there may be or might be some miscommunication that causes conflict based on new info and/or someone’s communication this month, Gem. The 3 of Swords is not about heartbreak from an emotional level, but rather disappointment or hurt stemming from a lack of or miscommunication, triangulation with a 3rd party muddying the waters between you and someone else, or simply your own mind hijacking your heart. Bring awareness to how you talk about yourself to yourself and others. Likewise, lean into acceptance around a rejection of some sort, gather info, process, and release it. You may feel compelled to ruminate (holler, fellow Geminis! It’s our specialty) but know that this situation and its accompanying feelings are all temporary. There is a full moon in your sign, so focus on balance and calibration of all relationships by getting underneath emotions you notice when thinking about certain people. This card also generally highlights being confused about something or someone and clarity is needed by being honest with yourself and others. Last month was about moderation and patience, and this month, Scorpios are guided to bring attention to where there is stagnant or anxious clutching to finances, work, and health. If you are feeling stagnant, you are likely holding onto something (a job, something related to money/an investment, or a health habit) that is no longer serving you and taking up space that is meant for something better for YOU. The theme of security is very relevant here, but if you are experiencing more fear than security, something is out of alignment. On the other hand, for those who have been collaborating and working towards goals, this is a message about earned security. Tarot Card: The Fool (jumper: Temperance)
Pisces, April is big! You are about to or soon will enter into a new life phase or new personal journey through a fresh opportunity at your feet (or fins). The Fool asks you to engage your childlike optimism and joy and jump into the unknown. Release baggage, even material possessions that are taking up physical space, to make room for an upgrade.
