It’s Pisces season! Enjoy the depth and breadth of compassionate cracklings, spiritual connections and synchronicities, creative flow, and also closings. Pisces is a very poignant transitional sign as the ruler of the 12th house. There is something akin to “inner honor ceremonies” as our personal planets cross this threshold, and for all when the sun ingresses this sign. We lovingly, sometimes grievingly, part with certain energies, ideas, and relationships before a cosmic rebirth in the spring upon Aries season. Take a final swim in February, kiss those inner waves, and see what you can’t bring up to your shore during this celestial portal.
As we are all awakening from winter slumber in to spring, we honor this turning of the Wheel of the Year by celebrating the spring equinox and Pagan sabbat, Ostara on March 20, celebrating rebirth, renewal, and bright colors coming back onto the earth’s palette.
March, as a whole, is a big energy, big moves month, if that’s what you’re looking for. This is due to Saturn (long-term commitments, hard work, dedication, learning opportunities) moving from Aquarius (air) into Pisces (water) on 3/7. Aquarius folks can expect to feel some relief and empowerment after Saturn’s time in your sign… Allow the integration to unfold and claim your “leveling up” in the video game of Life!
For all, having Saturn set up shop in Pisces, the last sign of the zodiac (12th house), who holds parts of all signs to make itself complete, looks like big lessons in what has been hidden, how society confines itself and individuals, shadow elements of groups/states/nations, and other 12th house themes. Saturn changes signs ~3 years. This heralds new structure/discipline, learning, boundaries, and work around spirituality and creativity, along with disengaging from old groups that do not serve us, while learning a whole new set of life lessons based on sign Saturn is in for you. In Pisces, the wateriest of the water signs, there may be a clunky energy with Saturn trying to create boundaries and structure under water, where it is easy to oscillate in nebulousness and soft boundaries. However, Pisces is full of compassion, spiritual energy, and creative thinking, so expect creative solutions to old problems as a whole, and individually.
Check what house Pisces falls in your chart to see what area of life will get some Saturn energy (including karmic lessons!):
Toward the end of the month, there is a transformation portal opening with Pluto (the great excavator, detoxer, death/rebirth, power, and transformation planet), moving from Capricorn (earth) to Aquarius (air) on 3/23. Pluto has been in Cap (business, structure, work) for the past 15 years… This is a HUGE shift. This means a death/rebirth activation and psychological and energetic detoxing and transformation (Pluto) around humanity and our relationship with technology + spirituality (Aquarius) … And spiritual technology (Galactic family). When Pluto goes Rx, it will re-enter Cap for some final biz the 2nd half of the year.
This is a collective shift to new ways of thinking, digging deeper and detoxing beliefs and social mores, and claiming empowerment for the Collective. Also, I foresee new and futuristic communications and technologies, shared stories, and disclosures coming forth. IYKYK, and I recommend reading the work by Steven M. Greer, if so.
Make note of the specific full and new moon energy and some of this month’s significant transits below to prepare for and work with the cosmic flow. Use the full and new moons’ symbols, themes, each lunation’s tarot card partner, herbs for candle magick, crystals, affirmations, and more to personalize your own rituals around invocations and releases during those energetic portals.

SYNOPSIS:
This full moon in Virgo occurs the same day Saturn ingresses to Pisces. Since March 2020 (the beginning of the pandemic), Saturn has been in Aquarius, so there is a deep energy shift and new chapter in our personal stories coming forth… What have been major themes/lessons/structures/boundaries that you created, worked through, built over the past 3 years? How have you become stronger and more powerful from these Saturnian lessons? Integrate them by bringing awareness, naming them, and reflecting on how you and your life have grown. Now the reset energy and new lessons are being heralded by acknowledging all your abundance, seeing everything for what it is, and claiming your karmic rewards for your hard work with this full moon. After it peaks, release the old internal and external structures over the next couple of weeks leading up to the new moon.
Astrology-wise, this full moon has a hazy vibe with the moon squaring Mars and opposing Neptune. Grace is the place this lunation… Virgo’s ability to ground, clear and deliberate communication style, and meticulous attention are all in the air for each of us to breathe in. So engage sacred pauses, slowing down, feeling everything, and collecting facts and info to rewrite your narrative as you see fit and to make informed decisions. We need fog sometimes to dip into fantasy and see what our unconscious is up to. Fog also encourages us to hit the brakes and do one thing at a time. Jupiter (the PMA planet of expansions and blessings) and Chiron (asteroid of healing and wisdom through pain) are conjunct in Aries, so healing emotional wounds and potentially old trauma are also being lit up by the light of this Virgo moon that is all about healing, medicine, and health.
Focus on mental and physical health balance + acceptance of current issues, communication clarity where there are ruptures, and creating one-step-at-a-time empowerment lists to lay blueprints for near future plans… Sometimes, one hour at a time. An AL-Anon saying, “let go; let god” may be a good mantra this lunation (replace god with whatever resonates with you).
THEMES & SYMBOLS:

FULL MOON PETITION
For this earth moon, write out your full moon releases, speak them aloud facing north (earth element direction), then light it on fire and place in your cauldron or a fire-safe dish to burn to completion. Sprinkle salt into the cauldron/dish and mix in with your petition’s ashes to purify.
SUGGESTED MANTRA or AFFIRMATION
“In the light of this full moon in Virgo, I allow all my energy bodies to pause, ground, and anchor to the earth. I release stagnant, dense, and low vibrational energies through my feet, through floor, through the dirt, and back into the earth where it maybe transmuted by land spirits. As this new, fresh space in me expands, I welcome all reflections into my mind and energy field now. May I see the lessons, the growth, and healing I have participated in and endured. May I recognize new yearnings, alignments, and goals. I call in ease and grace as some things leave, and new things enter my life. I am grateful for all that was here and all that is yet to come, and I trust that my Guides are blessing and protecting me in all ways, in all timelines, through these transitions. So mote it be."
FULL MOON MEDICINE
Virgo rules the eyes, ears, pancreas, and digestive system. Take some time off from screens to let your eyes rest, listen to beautiful music, and eat herbs and root veggies that ground you and move all “rubbish” through your system, cleaning out debris. The South Node aka Ketu can be thought of as where/how we expel waste, so eating mindfully is key for this sign that rules health. In relation to releases, you can visualize the food and nutrients give your body digesting and grabbing all of the old energy you wish to release, carrying it out of your body. Also doing body twists, the Rock and Sphinx yoga poses, sitting on the earth, and walking barefoot on earth can get your body feeling good! Also highly recommended for this Mercury-ruled sign’s lunation ritual: Communication & Connection Crystal Kit.
This new moon has all the signatures of rebirth and fresh starts… It is in the Aries, the 1st house sign, at 0 degrees—the “youngest” degree of 30 in a sign, on a new moon. This is the zodiacal new year! So even if you had a clunky start to the new year, this is an energy portal that allows a big “reset” button smash for fresh starts.
Speaking of fresh starts, one of HUGEST transits of the year, and in recent years, is Pluto’s move into Aquarius. Pluto has been in Cap for 15 years… That’s a LONG time, y’all, especially for the planet of power who gut renovates our metaphorical houses, vacuuming, and lysol-ing everything for the purpose of personal empowerment and transformation. It has been doing all this heavy duty work in one particular house for you, and is now gathering its cleaning supplies, laying what has died to rest, and cheering on the rebirth that is unfolding until it retrogrades mid-year. Now, you can prepare for new Pluto energy in a new house (see intro for your house). Pulling all of that in with this new moon in a rebirth house seems extremely significant. With transformation comes healing, with change comes growth and empowerment.
For many healing the Witch Wound from transgenerational trauma instigated during the Burning Times will feel activated now, but in an empowering, beautiful way. Witches have reclaimed fire, the master classical element that transmutes, cleanses, and allows for new growth. For everyone, no matter your gender, lean into the fire and creativity of the Divine Feminine through the veil of Aries’ bold and passionate rebirth spirit. Allow the darkness of new moon increase your intuition and extra-senses to claim the power within you. Return to that power and do ritual of any fame to commemorate your personal rebirth and the honoring of the divine women that came before you. Even if you do not have positive experiences in your family of origin with women, know that there are Divine Feminine ancestors of the light who are cheering for you and loving you so deeply now, the way you are coming into loving yourself more. I’ve probably said this line before from a beloved professor who is an amazing therapist and dance/movement therapy coach, but I love it and tell it to all my clients: BE HEALTHY SELFISH.

RITUAL + ALTAR INSPIRATIONS
Write your intentions as specifically as possible on a small piece of paper, in the present tense, as if they are already happening or already happened. Fold it 3 times toward you, symbolizing bringing energy to you, and place on your altar under your crystals. You may also place your petition under your Fire Element Candle or chime candle before you light it. This is a fire moon, so safely ignite your petition and burn it down in your cauldron or other fire-safe dish.
SUGGESTED MANTRA or AFFIRMATION
“On this new moon in Aries, I am grateful for another year of cosmic and energetic rebirth! I call on the sun and the wind to clean my slate. I consciously cast the spell through my words to reset my energy, releasing all energy that it is not mine, if that is for my highest good. I engage being healthy-selfish, making my needs a priority, not only in expressing them, but in honestly identifying them. l nourish myself by living authentically, allowing my inner child to be loud and take up space. I nourish myself and others by maintaining self awareness while boldly expressing myself. I claim my sacred fire! So mote it be!”
NEW MOON MEDICINE
Aries rules the head, teeth, tongue, arteries. Use tea tree oil in your shampoo to stimulate your scalp and clear your crown chakra. Do mantra meditations where you get your tongue moving through words, move your body, make art, sing, dance—get your vitality activated! These activities are also part of narrative therapy because they help you connect to and express yourself.
Wishing you all empowering full and new moons this month!
