Celestial Insights    November 2021

Welcome to November and eclipse season, y’all! Not only are we in deep, visceral Scorpio season most of the month, we also have a lunar eclipse on the full moon. The end of the month, we get some invigorating fire energy in the shift from subterranean Scorpio into the free-thinking, firefly energy of Sagittarius, showering us with optimism and adventure. Neptune, Uranus, and Chiron are all still retrograde this month, so we still have some inner work to wrap up, however, four planets stationed direct last month, creating some forward momentum and action that we should be experiencing more wholly throughout November.

November 1st is the Witches New Year’s Day, so Happy New Year, witches! It’s also a significant numerology day (111, as is 11/11!), also correlating to fresh starts and spirit guidance to kick off this month. The lunations are always impactful energetically, but this month is heavy duty with a super new moon in Scorpio, followed by a full moon partial lunar eclipse in Taurus. Bottom line: Going deep to inform big collective energy shifts and fated endings/releases throughout the month, but topped with optimism, understanding, and freedom at the end.

Check out several notable astro transit dates below to both prepare for and better understand these massive energy shifts so you can work with (and not against) cosmic flow. Be sure to check the Tarotscopes blog for specific astrology transits for your sun, rising, and moon signs, too.

Create your own rituals around the new and full moons with themes, symbols, and tools to activate your manifestations and releases outlined below. Make note of which house will be most affected for you, per lunation, as well. Especially for the full moon eclipse!

Wishing you November blessings and graceful awakening and transformation energies to grow your soul and your most sacred relationships.

NOVEMBER CELESTIAL INSIGHTS:

NOVEMBER 2021 LUNATIONS

Super New Moon in Scorpio: Feeling Your Way Through the Cave Mystique
Thursday, November 4, 2021 @ 12 degrees of Scorpio
2:14 pm // 5:14 pm EST

Happy Diwali to those who celebrate!

THEMES & SYMBOLS: feeling with ALL senses, spiritual/sexual/emotional awakening, new commitments, sexuality, magnetism, interpersonal electricity, power, recognizing value in others, inheritance, soul mates, deep connections, obsessions, investigations, extreme emotions, lust at first site, mystery, secrets revealed, hidden desires rising, regeneration, getting unstuck, shadow work, magick, lanterns, magick lanterns! (shoutout Kenneth Anger fans), dark waters, caves, Pluto, the scorpion, the eagle, the phoenix, the snake, black, crimson red, maroon, indigo, dark purple

This profoundly impassioned new moon is getting an electrical zap of spontaneity from its direct opposition to Uranus. I picture walking through a dark, cold cave with little flashes of lighting, like an underground storm… Furthering that imagery, we have Mercury entering Scorpio tomorrow, so getting insights and sudden realizations resulting from determined and focused “investigative research” energy. I would say expect surprises, unexpected information, exciting liberation, and intense communication on and around this new moon. Think of it like the dark moon in the sign of Scorpio (who loves the darkness) is where we turn within and meditate on new beginnings, then Uranus adding lightning bolts as the only illumination. This makes the air electrical, heightening all of our senses to anything we choose to focus on. We may not be able to see with our eyes, but can “feel” with other senses, intensifying our experience while invoking trust in all we do and with whom we do it. I also picture glowing neon flora that are thriving in the dark, dampness of this Scorpio cave… Which to me, through a Jungian lens, symbolizes the beautiful illumination we find in our shadow realms if we walk deep enough into the darkness.

Use this cycle to not only do your inner shadow work, but to also see and appreciate what is in others’ shadow realms so we may know them and love them completely. In other words, seek the neon flora deep in the shadow of your most intimate relationships. Regarding starting new cycles, Scorpio is all about regeneration, so embody the Phoenix energy of rising from the ashes of Rx season and starting a big, new, powerful cycle that feels more authentic to the new you. See what house is especially activated on this new moon below, too!

YOUR NEW MOON LUNATION HOUSE

Find your sun or rising sign below to see what area of your life will be most impacted by this new moon:

  • ARIES: 8th House (transformation, the occult/mystery, other people’s money)
  • TAURUS: 7th House (intimate relationships, partnerships, known enemies)
  • GEMINI: 6th House (health, daily routines, pets)
  • CANCER: 5th House (creativity, pleasure, children)

RITUAL + ALTAR INSPIRATIONS

  • Deities: Pluto, Perspehone & Demeter/Artemis & Diana, Hekate, Hades, Mars, Lakshmi (Diwali)
  • Tarot Card: Death (transformation, change, endings, closure, impermanence, renewal, regeneration, shedding snakeskin, rebirth)
  • Candles: black, crimson red, maroon, indigo, dark purple, Water Element candle
  • Crystals: (To wear or place on altar) Black moonstone (magick, intuition, hope, new moon stone), yellow topaz (Pluto healing energy around power and prosperity + Scorpio birthstone), aquamarine (Scorpio stone and a water stone that connects to emotion, protects, gives courage), amethyst (mental balance with spiritual protection), malachite (transformation, ease in transition, fortitude, travel, insights, heart chakra), brown aragonite (storm energy, regeneration, truth, perception), bloodstone (luck and manifestation)
  • Herbs + Oils + Resins: basil (use actual herb or essential oil to dress candle: Scorpio herb, wealth, abundance, healing), sage (cleansing/clearing, protective), allspice (energy, determination, good luck), belladonna (deadly nightshade—astral work, divination; DO NOT INGEST), wormwood (healing + psychic/dream energy), nettle (Scorpio herb, courage, protection, healing power), thistle (protection, strength, hex-breaking), Queen Anne’s lace (protective + fertility, love, sex magick), rosemary (new moon, clarity, healing, protection)

NEW MOON PETITION

Write your intentions as specifically as possibly on a small piece of paper, in the present tense, as if they are already happening or already happened. Fold it 3 times toward you, symbolizing bringing energy to you, and place on your altar under your crystals. You may also place your petition under your water element candle or chime candle before you light your candle. This is a water moon, so you can use moon water, ocean/lake/river water, or clean drinking water to submerge your petition after your candle goes out.

SUGGESTED MANTRA

“I call in courage and trust to traverse the depths of my being with grace. All of my senses, including my intuition, are activated so I may anchor into a deeper connection to my Self and my relationships. I accept myself and others as we are, and I embrace the shadow in us all. May I emerge from this energy work as The Phoenix! So mote it be.”

NEW MOON MEDICINE

Scorpio rules genitals, anus, bladder, prostate. Recommendations: New moon sex and sex magick (which can be done solo!), Trauma-Sensitive yoga, Child’s pose, legs up the wall yoga poses, pelvic floor contraction, deep breathing (Lion’s Breath, square breathing, belly breathing), drinking lots of water and eating plenty of fiber.

Full Moon Partial Lunar Eclipse in Taurus: A Divine Push Into Elevated Existence
Friday, November 19th, 2021 @ 27 degrees of Taurus
12:57 am PST  //  3:57 am PST

THEMES & SYMBOLS: fated endings, abrupt endings, destiny, material releases, major changes, karmic endings, life path checkpoint, unconscious desires surfacing, recognizing attachments, expressing frustration, respond vs. react, emotional release and reset, transformation, new 2-year cycle, Venus, beauty, money, love, values, peace, grounding, stubbornness, practicality, sensuality, forest bathing, aesthetic changes, rich food, chiaroscuro paintings, classical music, all things exquisite, roses, poppies, the bull, the beaver, the bear, pink, pastel colors, periwinkle, violet

This Taurus full moon falls on a Friday (Venus day/Venus rules Taurus) in the wee early hours of the morning… This lunation wants us to embody comfort and security and feel connection, so it will shine light on insufficiencies or “rotted fruits” that we need to compost, especially around our attachment styles (you can take an Adult Attachment quiz here!) Attachment styles were learned in childhood and reflect how we show up in our adult relationships, so doing the shadow work exploration around this inner part of us may help bring to light some useful information in how we are (or aren’t) connecting with others. On a tastier note, Taurus folks tend to appreciate the good things in life, including food, so try focusing on what brings you satiety and maximum comfort, and in what you find true beauty and value, and then intentionally clear what no longer “fills” you up. Similarly, as a Venus-ruled earth sign, money is a major Taurus theme, so this lunation is a great time to change up your financial patterns and habits.

ECLIPSE ENERGY:

This lunation is extra potent because it is also a lunar eclipse. This eclipse is the second to last within the Gemini/Sagittarius axis story being written since June 2020, but it also begins the new Taurus/Scorpio axis that will last through late October 2023. So, this lunation truly is a bold period punctuating the past year and half from what’s ahead. Reflection from a bird’s eye view will help you see how communication + learning (Gemini) and spiritually + multiculturalism (Sagittarius) have become meaningful for you and the collective, especially in relation to what was personally going on around the new moon in Taurus this past May. All eclipses this year are part of the cycles that started in June 2020 in the Gemini/Sagittarius axis, and we have one more next month. Any major shift you experience will be anchored into some major personal theme since mid-2020. In Taurus, Venusian themes and the material resources (especially money), including our physical bodies and sexuality, are being lit up by the light of the full moon.

Many people fear eclipses, but it’s important to remember they come every year; they are part of the energetic cycle in the Wheel of the Year. They bring sacred Tower card energy in, meaning divinely guided shifts in your life. The results can be “good” or “bad,” but usually, if you are being real with yourself, you will have an idea about what part of your life this big shake-up may happen in, and it may not be a surprise either way. This lunation will serve you some tough love in getting you to the boiling point of a situation, then will rip the band-aid off for you. The only heavy-hearted note I will make is that many living beings who have not been well tend to drop their bodies and cross over around eclipses. Again, this is not sudden death, but perhaps someone who has been unwell for some time. At the tail end of Scorpio season in the sign of the physical body (Taurus), this also seems likely. I’m sorry to be macabre here, but I’m just trying to keep it real. Just remember: Love is energy that NEVER dies.

As always, it’s auspicious to call in and recognize abundance leading up to the peak of the full moon, then take deliberate action in your releases and forgiveness after the peak.

YOUR FULL MOON LUNATION HOUSE

Find your sun or rising sign below to see what area of your life will be most impacted by this full moon:

  • ARIES: 2nd House (your financial and personal value, material possessions)
  • TAURUS: 1st House (identity, personality, appearance)
  • GEMINI: 12th House (the unconscious, psychic gifts, who/what is hidden,
  • inner secrets and inner dialogue )
  • CANCER: 11th House (friends, social groups, your community)
  • LEO: 10th House (career, achievements, public status)
  • VIRGO: 9th House (higher learning, teaching, spirituality, expansion)
  • LIBRA: 8th House (transformation, the occult/mystery, other people’s money)
  • SCORPIO: 7th House (intimate relationships, partnerships, known enemies)
  • SAGITTARIUS: 6th House (health, daily routines, pets)
  • CAPRICORN: 5th House (creativity, pleasure, children)
  • AQUARIUS: 4th House (home, family/ancestors, security)
  • PISCES: 3rd House (communication, student, community, siblings)

RITUAL + ALTAR INSPIRATIONS

  • Deities: I’m feeling connection to spirit animals and wildlife for deities this lunation! If you have it, use The Beaver or Bear oracle cards from The Wild Unknown by Kim Krans, or use a statue, figurine, painting, or image of a bull or beaver. Also, Aphrodite, Venus, Freyja, Pan
  • Tarot Card: The Hierophant (yang energy to The High Priestess, teacher, spiritual guide, sacred traditions, ancient wisdom, ancestral knowledge, morality)
  • Candles: pink, pastel colors, periwinkle, violet, black and white candles for the eclipse, Earth Element candle
  • Crystals: sunstone (represents eclipse energy/the sun/yang energy), rainbow moonstone (eclipse energy and full moon stone/yin energy), selenite (full moon clearing and gentle guidance), emerald (Taurus + Venus stone, patience, balance, wisdom), rose quartz (unconditional love, healing, empathy), kunzite (honesty, peace, compassionate communication), copper (use pennies, which is good for financial focus, or other copper objects to ground you, activate lower chakras, bring security, “conductor energy” for sensuality, balance)
  • Herbs + Oils + Resins: rose (Venus herb for Taurus self/universal love energy + protection), hawthorn (healthy boundaries, protection), mugwort (Venus lunar herb that’s great for cleansing and protection + dream work), skullcap (release anxiety, heightened nerves, racing thoughts), lemon balm (calming, soothing, renewal), dried willow bark (lunar magick, goddess energy, healing, romance)

FULL MOON PETITION

For this earth moon, write out your full moon releases or those you want to forgive on a small piece of recyclable paper, speak them aloud facing north (earth element direction), and then either bury it in earth or light it on fire and place in cauldron to safely burn. Add salt (earth + cleansing) and mix with ashes to purify your intentions and complete the release.

SUGGESTED MANTRA

“With grace and gratitude, I release what no longer has room to thrive, what I no longer need, what no longer needs me, and anyone or anything ready to depart. May the energies I let go fold over into the earth, becoming sustenance for Gaia, and may all light energies of love stay with me always. I call in my guides and spirit helpers to bring me understanding and comfort. I release all of these cords now, and invoke light consciousness into this new empty space I hold for new beginnings to come. So mote it be.”

FULL MOON MEDICINE

Taurus rules the neck, vocal cords, throat, thyroid gland. Practice chanting solo or with a loved one to clear and charge your throat chakra, wear blue and/or black stones around your neck for throat chakra and protection and transmuting old energy. Drink rose-peppermint tea to activate your vagus nerve for emotional regulation while infusing yourself with the love and protection frequencies of rose and the healing and clarity of peppermint. Do plow pose or fish pose to stimulate and circulate blood to thyroid gland. Put on your favorite song and sing on the top of your lungs!

Wishing you all a deep AF New Moon and truly transformational and elevating Full Moon this November!
