Welcome to your May 2020 astrological overview!

Pull up a seat, and grab a pen & paper because I would like you to jot a few notes down for this month’s overview. We’ve got not one, not two, but THREE major planetary retrogrades happening this month. Jupiter will go retrograde in Capricorn, which dampens optimism and travel, and Saturn in Aquarius, which is likely to continue some forms of social distancing. I imagine in the weeks ahead we will emerge from our lockdown status, and slowly resume life again. Granted nothing will ever REALLY go back to normal, or at least the way life once was. This is the new normal. Both Mars and Saturn in Aquarius assists Venus in making more solid decisions nearly all month long. Collectively, we’re being asked to move into what’s best for EVERYONE, and not just certain select groups. It’s time to stop ignoring particular elephants in the room and work together as one. The very future of our global, economic and environmental livelihood depends on it. Probably the biggest planetary retrograde will be Venus turning retrograde in the sign of Gemini. Venus presides over all matters of the heart. Relationships, relations, money, commerce, etc. Overall, astrologically when a planet is retrograde it’s a time to review, revisit, rework, reimagine it’s gifts from the heavens and an opportunity to “clean out the fridge.” This is definitely not the most ideal time to LAUNCH a new venture, relationship etc. It’s also one of the LEAST ideal times to plan a wedding or get married. Granted, life needs to happen, I understand. But I’m going to tell you, “I told ya so” when it goes wrong.

Here’s where the notes come in handy. I want you to make a note of; Spring 2004 as well as Spring 2012. These were the last times in more so recent history Venus went retrograde in this sign. I’d like you to think about what may have happened in those times in your life. Go through your phone, calendar, social media, photos etc. Why do I have you note this? Because Astrology is the study of cycles in planetary movement. History does in many ways repeat itself. Those of you with a natal planet in Gemini (specifically about 4 degrees to 22 degrees; Sun, Moon, Venus, or rising) should pay CLOSE attention. Libra’s and Taurus; you’re ruled by Venus. This will also affect you. Mutable placements Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces, this will put pressure on you as well. If you look at the dates below, the SQUARES between Venus and Neptune will be days to watch. This will bring up cloudiness, miscommunications, secrets, and moments to question your values. Once again, this is a good time to know precisely where placements are in your own personal astrology so you can better prepare and look back on the past to make better decisions for your future.

Heed my advice on this. Venus does NOT like being in the sign of Gemini. This represents duality, choices, options. For many just coming out of weeks on end being locked up with their significant other, they’re realizing the love they thought they had isn’t cutting it. For others, it’s how they’re working, or spending their money, etc. Regardless, a Venus retrograde here is notoriously nasty and filled with all sorts of scandalous social media DM’s, slippery text messages, and miscommunications in love. Many will be at a crossroads and choose to be less than honest with their dealings in love. Let it be known, if you’re fucking around and cheating, you’re likely to get caught. Emotionally or physically. And if you’re looking for something, you need to ask yourself WHY you’re looking for it. Yes, some relationships will end, and rightfully so. So many exes are likely to surface. They’re also likely surfacing to square up and have convos because they’re either unhappy themselves or have had a lot of time to sit alone and reflect on their past thanks to ‘RONA. But like you, they have options, and not every person from the past is necessarily your prince/ princess charming. Venus stops short of connecting with the North Node, which is moving into Gemini very soon. Likely many of the events taking place between now and end of June is a direct result of whom or what we’re supposed to have by the end of this Summer.

Venus also presides over beauty. So anyone looking to have any elective surgeries, cosmetic procedures, permeant makeup, major style or hair changes; think again, my dear. Trust me on this, don’t do it. You’re likely to regret or wish you hadn’t taken that jump. Likely it will be due to the options, and most may think they’re choosing what LOOKS good, but in the end, it may not be best for you esthetically. The same goes for significant clothing overhauls, home decoration, or extras for cars. The effects of this retrograde are felt now until the end of June. The shadow period will stretch into nearly the end of July. Financially speaking, some may be awaiting on financial support, and delays can happen, especially with checks coming in the mail, or digital transactions or wiring. Word to the wise; those who know these funds are coming should be proactive. Sign contracts, agreements, have the discussions and get the ball rolling ASAP in early May before the 13th to avoid these issues. Good luck, and may the odds forever be in your favor.

Aries
Tarot Card: 10 of Wands- Getting to the end of a heavy burden.

Be careful and take what you hear with a grain of salt this month. Watch for issues revolving around gossip and miscommunication. The Full Moon will be shining a light on something hidden from you. Being in the sign of Scorpio, it’s likely going to involve matters revolving around security or trust. The New Moon will bring up issues revolving around delicate conversations. If there’s been something brewing that bothers you, have that conversation around the 12th of the month. Clarity can be found and worked out. Be cautious around buying a new vehicle, signing contracts, and purchasing electronics from mid May until the end of June. Venus is going retrograde and likely to bring about issues in these areas, especially if it involves the exchange of money. Unforeseen information is expected to surface by the end of the month, leaving you wishing you hadn’t made a specific decision. It’s going to be more challenging seeing the silver lining at work until the end of May. Jupiter is going retrograde allowing you to refine a vision in regards to your career or public image. Don’t fret; all will be settled come the end of Summer. Networking and communication with social groups prove positive if they are like-minded. Expect anyone else to drift in the weeks ahead.

Taurus
Tarot Card: Queen of Wands- Fire sign woman, passionate and creative endeavors.

Hold onto your pants, Taurus, the Full Moon in your relationship sector is about to pack a major punch. All I can tell you is you are in control of YOURSELF not OTHER PEOPLE. Please write that on a sticky note. Stick it to your wall, your desk, your fridge whatever. Somewhere where you can see it. This Venus retrograde is going to be especially hard on my Venusian honeys (Taurus+ Libra), and there’s no candy-coating it. Yes, finances seem challenging. However, any lack you’re feeling, isn’t long term. If anything, it’s to help you become more acutely aware of where you’re working or trying TOO hard, at the risk of your own health or happiness. When it comes to partnerships or business partners, you can’t please everyone. Take care of you. The New Moon is helping you get your finances in order, and is a potent time to set intentions revolving around self-esteem, beauty, and economics. Use May and June to get your money right, and dedicate time to things (and people) who make you feel good about just being YOU. Let anyone who isn’t team Taurus fall by the wayside. Saturn’s helping you reflect in it’s retrograde on how to better build the career you want. Observe. It may take the help of some friends or like-minded beings to create something.

Gemini
Tarot Card: Queen of Swords- Air sign woman, swift direct communication.

This month is likely to be a doozy for you. Take your time, value your health, and mind a schedule. Seriously. As Venus moves retrograde through your personal sign (Sun/ Ascendant/Moon), you want to note what is and isn’t working. Venus is connected to all things regarding love, health, and money. All three topics will be thoroughly reviewed in the weeks ahead. This is NOT the time to make a significant personal upgrade esthetically. I know you love your crazy hair colors, and sudden change of style. But I promise you, if you try to cut your bangs, buy up a new wardrobe, or get something permanent done to your body, you will NOT be happy. Instead, reflect on what isn’t making you happy, and if you still feel the same way in July, move forward with these changes. You’ll thank me later. The Full Moon shines a light on your work schedule or routine. You may have a health flare-up or sudden change in work. Use the New Moon to set your own new personal intentions to pave the way forward. Pay extra attention to any health issues, or matters revolving your diet. Traveling seems a bit dicey for you until closer to June, so think long and hard before deciding to purchase or plan a trip. Jupiter is going retrograde, helping you put your mind together with a partner regarding finding solutions for financing or getting the bills paid.

Cancer
Tarot Card: 10 of Cups- Emotional completion and happiness.

This month you can expect some strange turn of events, especially karmically. Karma (from my perspective) is neither good nor bad; just neutral. Venus is moving retrograde mid-month through your hidden sector. Secrets in regards to past lovers or romantic partners may surface. Deep subconscious fears, or things you’ve not been aware of may become evident. Definitely not a time to keep secrets from a partner, even if you think it’s for the best. Dreams may prove to be extra intense. Leaning into meditation or personal spiritual studies can be fantastic. The Full Moon highlights something extraordinary regarding your love life or children. Saturn is going retrograde through your eighth house of “others” suggesting you need some assistance from someone else, either financially or emotionally. Do your best to communicate this with someone, before it comes out unexpectedly via a meltdown. Meditation, therapy, and hypnotherapy can all be helpful in ridding yourself of past trauma so you can heal, and move forward in happier healthier situations. You’re so empathic, and you don’t often realize that not everyone can read your mind or understand your true feelings. Open up, even if it’s scary. This is what needs to happen to experience feeling supported and loved truly.

Leo
Tarot Card: The Fool- New Beginnings and opportunities await you.

Watch our for those ghosts from the past this month: friends, family, old relationships. You’re likely to experience some things that have you in your feels. Venus is moving retrograde in your house of friendships. This is also the place of your hopes, dreams, and wishes. Consider the next six weeks ahead as a time to observe and then decide if you genuinely like the life you’re living. Avoid friend spats if you can because they’re very likely to come up. I would also avoid “situationships,” where relationships are not precisely defined. You’re likely to get your heart broken or feel betrayed. Same thing goes for friends that are having relationship issues, stay out of it. I want to remind you, you’re likely to become like the people you spend the most time with. Don’t like what you’re seeing? CHANGE YOUR FRIENDSHIPS AND GOALS. Don’t complain about it; just start the process. The New Moon will give you an opportunity to manifest all your heart’s desires. Saturn is going retrograde in your relationship house, helping you define what it is you’re looking for long term. Be mindful of your schedule, and look for ways to make time for work and play equally in your life. Staying healthy and consistent with your dietary needs are essential here as well. Do your best to look for, and find balance whenever you can.

Virgo
Tarot Card: 8 of Swords- Feeling stuck, but its an illusion, mental challenges.

This month you want to take your time. Be mindful of your actions and HOW you communicate. I can not stress this enough. The Full Moon shines a light on meetings, emails, and phone calls. Something important regarding your career is likely to come up. The beginning phases of Venus going retrograde through your career sector is going to begin mid-month. The tenth house where this takes place is also your public image. This retrograde will give you roughly forty days to reevaluate, rework, or revise something about your career and HOW people view you. So, it’s incredibly important to remain calm under stress, breathe, and listen before reacting. Trust me when I tell you this aspect is INCREDIBLY important in paving the way for you to have more success in the months and years ahead. Neptune in your partnership sector doesn’t always agree with how you handle things. You’re likely to experience feeing pulled at all different angles (Home/ Relationship/ Career) this month. Do your best to hear others out and consider other points of view. Don’t push back on authority. I know you don’t handle constructive criticism well, but there’s some solid gold that will come to you to help refine the way you live your life. You’re a leader, and to lead, sometimes that means considering other people. Pay attention to your health and wellness, and a better-balanced schedule is a better-balanced mind. Sometimes the feelings of being “stuck” are purely a state of mind.

Libra
Tarot Card: 5 of Coins- Being or feeling left out in the cold. Financial challenges.

The Full Moon is likely to bring up a very potent and powerful financial situation. Some may experience a bonus or an unexpected business opportunity. Significant purchases or transactions can take place during the time of this lunation. The Full Moon is an excellent time to weigh personal values and see if they measure up with a partners. There’s likely to be some surprising disagreements you have with another. If this is the case, observe. Then ask yourself if it’s something you’re willing to ignore. This isn’t the time to regress on your personal expectations. Venus retrograde is going to rock your world, and likely in ways you never imagined. The New Moon is setting the stage in your ninth house of travel and higher learning. Consider this the space where you will be redefining what it is you actually believe in—matters of continuing education, distant travel, or spiritual beliefs all fall here. If you’ve been considering taking an art class or revisiting a faraway place, it wouldn’t surprise me. Go for it. Saturn is in a positive aspect with both Venus and Mars, suggesting you may find love in a faraway place. Take your time and get to know anyone at a distance, no need to rush. Jupiter is moving retrograde in your home zone, slowing down the process of any home developments or perhaps a relocation.

Scorpio
Tarot Card: High Priestess- Knowing, sitting in meditation, listening to intuition, or visions.

Your intuition is strong this month, and it will come in waves likely giving you a heads up about what is about to take place. The Full Moon puts an emphasis on you and your physical self. It’s likely to be an intense one, with squares to Mars as well as transiting planets in Taurus. Your emotions are expected to run deep and be set off by someone within your home or family. Take it easy. Use the New Moon to plant seeds of intention revolving around going deeper and exploring those difficult areas having to do with feeling heard. You’re likely to be confronting some financial and personal fears in the weeks ahead. Venus will go retrograde through your eight house of transformation. This is an area where secrets, finances, sexuality, and all that is hidden resides. If you’ve had a hunch, something is off about a partnership or financial spending; it’s likely happening. Insurance issues and payoffs can happen here. Some of you may be confronted with the actual death of a loved one or wrapping up something having to do with end of life planning. Think estates, wills, budgets, or taxes. Take your time, and if you need it, seek help from a professional to iron out all the kinks. Jupiter is still aligned with Pluto in your communication zone. Your thoughts and words prove to be extremely powerful in the weeks ahead. Wield your words wisely when communicating with siblings or partners, they will prove to be a double-edged sword.

Sagittarius
Tarot Card: Ace of Coins- Financial success, new material gains.

Your relationships with others are likely to be a significant focus in the weeks ahead. Both the New Moon as well as the Venus retrograde is giving clues in your relationships sector of your chart. You are VERY, VERY likely to have ghosts from relationships past to appear. This can be people whom have unfinished business with you. Read that again. Now isn’t entirely the time to jump back into partnerships. Working on existing ones, and determining if they’re a good match for you, yes. Partners are likely to be all sorts of flippy floppy. Clients may also be unreliable. This is meant to be a moment of reckoning. The Full Moon is expected to allow you to clear out any old fears or outdated issues revolving around messy endings. Whatever comes to a close around this time let it go. It’s happening to remove hidden blocks going on karmically within your life. Jupiter is going to go retrograde in your house of income, helping you explore ways of developing new lines of revenue. Financial fruit will begin to bare the second half of May. The trick is being selective and assertive with whom you work with. Saturn is going to help you use the interwebs, blogs, and other various outlets to connect and network with other people. In the months ahead something you write or speak about could prove to be lucrative. Don’t give up on the dream.

Capricorn
Tarot Card: Ace of Swords- Contracts, decisions, and messages.

I sense a long-awaited reunion with some friends around the time of the Full Moon. It will be glorious and long overdue. You’ll have plenty of time to socialize and catch up on everyone’s life in recent weeks. I would caution you if anything arises revolving around finances and friendships. Issues with asking for financial help, paying someone back, or loans. This is likely to get dicey; so to be on the safe side, avoid this convo until later in the month. The New Moon is highlighting some new health goals. Especially when it comes to lung health, diet, or apps that manage your schedule. In the weeks ahead this is likely to be all sorts of wonky. Take advantage of the first two weeks of May before the Venus retrograde starts. It’s then you may have some significant changes both financially but also in terms of your workspace. Some will be returning to work, while others will have to accept more remote work. Those of you guys looking for employment may pick up a new gig. Maybe even two. Keep a close eye on your schedule, and don’t overwork. Saturn is going to go retrograde through your money zone. This is an EXCELLENT time to look over expenses and start a budget. Take a look at how much you’re spending on going out to eat, or possibly even your beauty routine. Scale it back a bit, love. Jupiter is helping keep the optimism in your personal sign. Keep your head up.

Aquarius
Tarot Card: Knight of Swords- Acting quickly, travel, or new insights. Messages from an air sign person.

The month starts off with some major moves happening in your career zone. Some of you may be finally releasing something or presenting a project. Major decisions are going to be made about where and if you continue the path you’re on. If something comes to a close, keep it moving. Saturn has your back in your personal sign, helping you reach greater heights. The New Moon occurs in your sister sign of Gemini, highlighting the need to have new opportunities and options when it comes to love. The truth is, work has been such a drain, you’ll realize how much you need freedom and the ability to have options romantically. Speaking of romance- expect to see doubles. Some of you may drop one person for another one quickly if you’re single. Hold off on asking for commitment and making any significant decisions like having children until AFTER June 2020. Not much is likely to stick prior, just keep it light. Old creative projects can be ready for some rejuvenation if you’re feeling inspired. Jupiter is going retrograde in your hidden zone, allowing you to review your spiritual beliefs. You may need some time and space away from others from time to time. Be open and honest about your fears/ needs, don’t just disappear.

Pisces
Tarot Card: Death- Rebirth, letting something go, welcoming the new. A fresh start.

This is likely to be a lively month ahead for you. The Full Moon kicks off in your area of spiritual beliefs and foreign travel. It’s possible you’re wrapping up a course or making the final decisions on a trip. The New Moon will have you reflecting on your physical home life, and if it’s time to make some changes. Some of you will be returning home after time away due to the pandemic, while others will realize suddenly it’s time to relocate. Regardless of what comes at you, breathe. Make decisions that are best for your emotional health. Yes, no one really enjoys moving. But something about being a little be lighter in the home area, boosts your ability to travel, work and engage with the world differently. A relocation may not be what you want, but I promise you for some, it may be what you NEED. Same thing goes for people whom leave your space. Redecorating can help; just don’t do anything significant like purchasing furniture or painting the walls. If family comes needing your assistance soon, take caution in this situation. Really think it through before jumping in to assist. Loaning money to family, or purchasing a home is also a big no go this month. Hold off until the second half of July. Saturn is asking you to continue to take time to “check out” and meditate, while Jupiter is boosting the need for friendships with those who have it figured out.
